About Darren

Darren’s musical journey began at just 9 years old, learning under the guidance of the late Robin Yeatman. Since then, he has toured Australia, performed with countless artists, and become a mainstay of Newcastle’s live music scene for over two decades.

A founding member and lead guitarist of The Viper Creek Band, Darren helped launch their chart-topping single Crazy Tonight, earning national recognition. With over 25 years of professional experience both on stage and in the studio, his performances blend technical brilliance with an effortless ability to move between acoustic ballads, blues, country, funk and rock anthems.

Whether he’s delivering stripped-back acoustic tunes or blistering electric solos, Darren brings the kind of musicianship that captivates every crowd.
